Canadia Group Chairman Pung Kheav Se Provides USD 3 Million Donation to Support Frontline and Displaced Civilians

Lok Neak Oknha Dr. Pung Kheav Se, Chairman of Canadia Group and its two main entities, Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC) and Canadia Investment Holding (CIH) has contributed USD 3 million to support frontline personnel and internally displaced civilians across five border provinces affected by the Cambodia–Thailand border situation.

National Solidarity in Times of Need

The donation made on 10 December comes at a time of growing humanitarian concern and follows an earlier USD 1 million contribution in July. Hostilities that first emerged in July prompted large cross-border movements, leading to the return of more than 1 million Cambodian migrants from Thailand since August. The situation has intensified in recent days, with clashes along the Cambodia–Thailand border displacing over 200,000 families since 8 December.

As needs continue to rise across affected areas, Canadia Group’s support reflects the role private sector organisations can play in difficult times, contributing to efforts that promote peace as a foundation for developing regional business relations.

Following the donation, Canadia Bank implemented debt relief measures for frontline personnel and their dependents, in accordance with the directives of the National Bank of Cambodia. This follows similar efforts launched last July.

The group also re-activated the “One Khmer Fund for Peace and Sovereignty,” a Canadia Bank fundraiser started in July to encourage public participation and expand the scope of support available to affected communities.

In OCIC neighborhoods like Koh Pich, Norea City, and Chroy Changvar Bay, community-led donation points have formed, with residents and volunteers coordinating the collection and delivery of essential goods for affected families and frontline personnel.

A Sustained Humanitarian Mission

Since July, OCIC and CIH have supported the delivery of essential items and worked with both local and private partners to assist families who have temporarily relocated. NGO-led blood donation drives have also taken place in Koh Pich’s convention halls, where thousands of donors have contributed critical supplies for hospitals in border provinces.

Support was also extended to learning camps in Preah Vihear managed by World Vision Cambodia, helping children maintain access to hygiene kits, education materials, and digital resources while away from home.

Earlier this month, OCIC together with other leading local conglomerates supported the “Rise for Khmer” charity concert in Paris, headlined by Baramey artists VannDa, Suzana Reth, Vanthan, Norith, and YUUHAI—which raised relief funds for families affected by the situation.

As the situation continues to evolve, these efforts reflect the group’s ongoing commitment to providing practical support where it is most needed, standing alongside communities and the nation in unity and solidarity.
