Cambodia Investment Review
As Cambodia’s property market evolves beyond its luxury condo boom, a new segment is rapidly emerging: branded residences. EuroCham Cambodia’s Real Estate & Construction Committee is set to unpack this growing phenomenon at its upcoming flagship forum, “The Rise of the Branded Residence: A New Era in Real Estate Investment,” on November 19 at Shangri-La Phnom Penh.
Branded Living Redefines Luxury Investment
The event comes as international hospitality brands increasingly extend their names into the residential sector—blurring the lines between hotel living and private ownership. The branded residence model, long popular in mature markets like Dubai and Bangkok, is now gaining traction in frontier economies such as Cambodia.
According to EuroCham, the forum will explore how this shift is reshaping investor behavior, developer partnerships, and consumer expectations of luxury and trust.
“Branded residences are reshaping real estate by blending the best of hospitality and residential living,” said Charles Amar, Vice-Chairman of EuroCham’s Real Estate & Construction Committee and Partner at Athipa Law Firm. “This forum is a unique opportunity to explore how international brands and developers can set a new benchmark for quality, innovation and lifestyle in property development in Cambodia.”
Policy, Design, and Investor Perspectives
Opening remarks will be delivered by Mr. Amar, followed by H.E. Ny Phaly, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism, who will outline the government’s efforts to integrate real estate and hospitality under Cambodia’s broader tourism strategy.
The event will feature insights from leading international voices, including Mr. Riyan Itani, Founder and Director of Global Branded Residences, who will share a global market update, and Mr. Michael Ayling, Group Managing Director of Brand Atlas, who will discuss the rise of branded living as a distinct investment class across Southeast Asia.
Two key panel discussions will follow. The first, “Why Brands are Entering the Residential Market and the Investment Potential for Developers,” will focus on financial models and demand drivers, with contributions from Frasers Hospitality, Khou Group, Brand Atlas, and Global Branded Residences.
The second, “Designing the Brand Experience,” moderated by Richard Stevens, Group CEO of Sectorlight, will feature experts from OCIC, Santhaya, Sectorlight, and The One Atelier. The session will examine how design and storytelling can elevate branded properties to a global standard.
Industry Networking and Collaboration
The half-day forum will conclude with a networking reception from 5:00 PM, offering developers, architects, and investors a platform to explore partnerships and new opportunities in Cambodia’s maturing real estate market.
