Cambodia Investment Review
HEINEKEN Cambodia has appointed Dat Pham as its new Managing Director, effective September 1, 2025, as the brewer looks to strengthen its position in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing beer markets.
Pham, who previously served as Finance Director of HEINEKEN Cambodia from 2019 to 2022, returns to Phnom Penh after a successful tenure leading HEINEKEN Laos. He replaces Andy Hewson, who guided the Cambodian operation over the past two years, embedding sustainability practices and promoting workplace safety.
From Finance Director to Regional Leader
During his earlier role in Cambodia, Pham steered the company through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, helping ensure financial stability and growth. His return comes after overseeing a major turnaround in Laos, where he led commercial and organizational changes that transformed the subsidiary into HEINEKEN’s fastest-growing operation in Asia-Pacific.

Under his leadership, HEINEKEN Laos doubled its market share and became the fourth-largest Heineken brand market in the region, delivering record-breaking performance in 2024 and 2025.
Focus on Growth and Sustainability
In his new role, Pham will report directly to Uday Sinha, Regional Managing Director for Asia-Pacific. His priority will be to accelerate growth by building on HEINEKEN’s portfolio of international premium brands—ranging from Heineken® and Tiger to ABC, Anchor, and Gold Crown—while reinforcing sustainability initiatives under the company’s “Brew A Better Cambodia” strategy.
“Cambodia is a dynamic market with great potential, and I am excited to work alongside our talented and passionate team to bring our business into its next phase,” Pham said in a company statement. “We remain a committed foreign investor and partner in the country’s economic growth.”
A Commitment to Local Talent
With more than a decade of experience across Europe and Asia, Pham represents a new generation of Asian executives advancing through HEINEKEN’s global leadership pipeline. He has expressed a particular focus on developing Cambodian leadership within the organization, aligning with the company’s strategy to cultivate regional talent for global roles.
HEINEKEN Cambodia, which first entered the Kingdom in 1994, employs about 700 people directly and supports an estimated 66,000 jobs along its value chain. The brewer has invested heavily in sustainability programs, including circularity, environmental impact reduction, and responsible drinking initiatives.
Pham’s appointment comes as the beer market in Cambodia continues to expand, driven by rising incomes, tourism recovery, and growing consumer preference for international premium brands.
