Cambodia Investment Review
Leading Cambodian businesses are beginning to mobilize in response to the humanitarian fallout from the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict, with ABA Bank announcing a $1 million donation to support emergency relief for displaced communities.
The funds will be channeled through several frontline humanitarian organizations, the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) and the Techo Youth Doctor Association (TYDA), to deliver essential support such as food, medical assistance, and temporary shelter to those affected by the hostilities.
ABA Bank—Cambodia’s largest commercial bank by assets and a subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada—said the move reflects its commitment to standing with the Cambodian people during moments of national hardship.
Private Sector Expands Role in Emergency Response
In addition to the direct donation, ABA Bank has launched a public fundraising campaign, encouraging broader participation from individuals and companies. Contributions can be made via ABAusing KHQR codes or the following direct links:

- US Dollar: https://link.payway.com.kh/S6370000p
The total amount collected by the Khmer Solidarity Fund, with full transparency on disbursement and spending, will be reported on the bank’s official Facebook page.
ABA’s contribution underscores a growing trend of corporate engagement in national crisis response. In recent years, Cambodia’s private sector has played an increasing role in public welfare, from pandemic support to natural disaster recovery.
ABA Bank’s Market Leadership
With around 5 million active mobile users and $15 billion in total assets, ABA Bank has cemented its leadership in Cambodia’s financial sector through a digital-first strategy. The bank has been recognized multiple times as the “Best Bank in Cambodia” by The Banker, a Financial Times publication.
The bank’s $1 million relief donation now positions it as a frontrunner in corporate contributions toward mitigating the impact of the current border conflict. It is expected that other major players in Cambodia’s business landscape may follow suit with further financial or logistical support.
