Cambodia Investment Review
DICHI Academy, in partnership with the Expert Leadership Innovation Exchange Organization (ELIX) and with the support of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPTC), celebrated the graduation of 30 young digital leaders from Cambodia’s first Techpreneur Bootcamp. This milestone marks the successful completion of a rigorous 9-month program aimed at empowering the country’s next generation of tech innovators and entrepreneurs, advancing Cambodia’s digital transformation agenda.
The graduation ceremony was presided by H.E. So Visothy, Secretary of State, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, alongside representatives from 13 career partners ranging from Cambodia’s leading corporations, tech-driven institutions, and small- to medium-sized enterprises. Together, they witnessed the emergence of a new wave of tech talent ready to drive Cambodia’s digital transformation. Our Techpreneurs are now Certified Developers by the US Silicon Valley Program in Full Stack Development. A total of 30 youth graduated from the program, developing robust skills in full-stack development and business innovation through successfully completing 56 sessions of technical training and 11 sharing sessions on entrepreneurial topics led by industry experts.
Real-World Problems Presented By Career Partner Companies
Students also actively engaged in 4 ideation challenges, developing 24 innovative solutions to real-world problems presented by career partner companies. This hands-on approach nurtured creativity, collaboration, and practical problem-solving. In the final phase, students successfully developed and tested 6 Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), addressing various industrial shortages, which were recognized by the career partners, who attended the MVPs.
The Techpreneur Bootcamp program equipped students with advanced technical and entrepreneurial skills, preparing them for career success. Through collaboration with 13 career partners through multiple activities, it also fostered a deepening synergy between education and industry. This collaboration paved the way for career opportunities, with 2 MVP solutions adopted by AMK Microfinance for further development. Impressively, 10 Techpreneurs were employed as part of AMK’s internal technical team to maintain and enhance these digital innovations. More importantly, almost 90% of the graduates are now employed in technical fields under various industries, indicating the program’s effectiveness in equipping students with readiness and competencies to meet real-world industry demands.
Preparing Students For Career Opportunities
This direct bridge between the program and the industry reinforced the program’s mission of preparing students for career opportunities. “This program directly supports Cambodia’s national vision to accelerate digital adoption across sectors,” said Mrs. Sivhuang, Managing Director of DICHI Academy. “By enlarging Cambodia’s pool of specialized technical talent and inspiring youth to pursue tech careers, we are building the foundation for a vibrant, innovative, and inclusive digital economy for Cambodia.”
The graduation of this first cohort is a significant step forward in Cambodia’s digital journey. DICHI Academy and ELIX remain committed to nurturing tech-savvy entrepreneurs who will lead economic growth and social progress in the years ahead.
