About ELT Education
The institution now known as ELT was originally founded as the American Academy of Language Art (AALA) in 1994 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Established by visionary American entrepreneurs, AALA aimed to enhance education and contribute to the country’s development.
In 1997, H.E. Chea Neang Eng, a passionate advocate for education, acquired the institution and rebranded it as the English Language Teaching Institute (ELT Institute).
Today, ELT Institute is part of ELT Education Co., Ltd, which also encompasses Berkeley International School and EESS (ELT Elementary and Secondary School). Our mission is to provide a supportive and challenging academic environment that equips students from Nursery through Grade 12 with the skills needed for success in both national and international curricula. Additionally, we offer General English programs and English for Specific Purposes tailored for business professionals.
Our current portfolio includes four campuses: two Berkeley International School campuses, one ELT Institute campus, and one EESS campus. We are thrilled to announce that, beginning in early 2025, we will be expanding with the addition of our fourth and fifth campuses for Berkeley International School.
