Cambodia investment Review
KPMG in Cambodia is proud to receive two AmCham CSR Awards for our Empowerment Scholarship Program and IT’s Her Future initiative. These awards reflect the firm’s commitment to expanding education access and advancing gender diversity in the technology sector.
The awards highlight KPMG’s broader CSR strategy under its Our Impact Plan (OIP), which focuses on education, empowerment, community, sustainability, and equality. Through these initiatives, KPMG aims to inspire future leaders and close opportunity gaps for disadvantaged youth, creating pathways for inclusive growth and long-term social impact.
Create Opportunities Through Education
The Empowerment Scholarship Program is a keystone of KPMG’s mission to create opportunities through education. Its primary goal is to remove financial barriers that prevent talented Cambodian youth from pursuing higher learning, ensuring that ambition and ability, not circumstance, define their future.
In 2023 in partnership with the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF), the program began with an inaugural cohort of 10 scholars who are now on their academic journey. Building on this success, KPMG is proud to welcome a second group of 10 scholars for the 2025-2029 academic years, doubling its impact and reinforcing its long-term vision for educational empowerment. Beyond financial assistance, the program fosters employee engagement and strengthens KPMG’s culture of giving back through creative initiatives such as charity auctions and fundraising events.
These activities combine teamwork and community spirit with a shared purpose, creating a ripple effect of inclusion and opportunity across Cambodian society.
While education remains a central pillar of KPMG’s CSR strategy, gender equality in technology is equally critical. The IT’s Her Future initiative, part of KPMG’s global 10by30 Strategy, aims to empower 10 million disadvantaged young people worldwide by 2030. In Cambodia, this program focuses on equipping young women with the technical skills, confidence, and career pathways needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving technology sector. Through interactive workshops, mentorship programs, and hands-on training, participants gain practical experience that goes beyond theory, learning in an environment that is engaging, innovative, and inspiring. These sessions spark creativity, collaboration, and leadership, perfectly reflecting KPMG’s values of #Together and #ForBetter. By breaking down barriers and creating opportunities in STEM, IT’s Her Future is helping to build a more inclusive and diverse technology workforce in Cambodia, ensuring that women are not just participants but leaders in shaping the digital future.
Corporate Social Responsibility Is More Than An Obligation
In KPMG, Corporate Social Responsibility is more than an obligation, it is a core purpose that drives the firm to create opportunities and build a future where everyone can thrive. Continuing this commitment, KPMG remains focused on expanding the reach and impact of its initiatives, delivering sustainable change through education, gender equality, community engagement, and empowerment.
These efforts aim to transform lives and contribute to a brighter future for Cambodia. The firm extends its appreciation to AmCham for this recognition and to its partners, including the Cambodian Children’s Fund and Tech for Kids Academy, for their continued support in making these programs successful.
