BritCham Cambodia Kicks Off 2026 with Second Annual Compliance Talks Following Strong Success in 2025

Cambodia Investment Review

BritCham Cambodia has opened 2026 with momentum, hosting the second annual Compliance Talks in collaboration with Grant Thornton Cambodia, following the strong turnout and positive feedback from last year’s inaugural session. The event underscores BritCham’s commitment to delivering timely, practical business insight and marks a fast and fruitful start to the year for the Chamber and its members.

Held early in January, Compliance Talks 2026 focuses on the core compliance topics businesses need to understand at the outset of the year. Sessions cover accounting updates, audit and assurance considerations, tax compliance, labour compliance, and legal and regulatory obligations relevant to companies operating in Cambodia. The programme combines concise expert presentations with panel discussions and audience Q&A to ensure practical, actionable takeaways.

The session is moderated by BritCham Board Member Ronald Almera of Grant Thornton, with senior representatives from the firm contributing across key compliance areas. Confirmed Grant Thornton speakers include Zent Yee Ng, Partner and Head of Audit & Assurance; Sitha Hourn, Director; Chetra Kong, Senior Manager; and Sanin Son, Manager. Together, they provide insight into current accounting standards, audit considerations, tax updates and labour compliance developments.

The event also features a guest legal compliance presentation from Sovanthana Ann, Founder of Ann & Associates. Sovanthana Ann leads a team of young and dynamic professionals from backgrounds including law, accounting, tax, business and IT, delivering legal and business consultancy services to SMEs, digital startups and young entrepreneurs. His contribution addresses legal compliance considerations that sit beyond the accounting and audit perspective, helping businesses better navigate Cambodia’s regulatory environment.

Building on the success of the 2025 edition, Compliance Talks 2026 reflects BritCham’s growing role as a trusted platform for business dialogue and knowledge sharing. By prioritising an early-year compliance briefing, the Chamber aims to help companies plan ahead, manage risk and operate with confidence in a changing regulatory landscape.

Compliance Talks 2026 also forms part of a busy January calendar for BritCham Cambodia. Later this month, the Chamber will host the inaugural Call My Number networking night on 23 January, delivered in collaboration with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia.

January will conclude with BritCham’s annual Burns Night celebration, featuring a whisky and wine paired four-course dinner at Rosewood Phnom Penh. Both events are already nearing full capacity.
