Cambodia Investment Review
Singapore’s popular restaurant chain Dian Xiao Er has officially opened its first branch in Cambodia, marking the start of its regional expansion strategy. The new outlet, located at the corner of Street 310 and Street 63 in Phnom Penh’s Boeung Keng Kang I district, introduces the city’s diners to its renowned Herbal Roast Duck and other Singaporean dishes.
The launch event attracted a mix of food enthusiasts, local media, and special guests, including Cambodian celebrity chef Nara, who described the restaurant’s signature dish as “an exquisite specialty that perfectly blends wellness and flavor.”
She added, “This is more than just delicious food; it’s a cultural connection between Singapore and Cambodia. The Herbal Roast Duck truly lives up to its reputation.”
Expansion into a Growing Dining Market
Dian Xiao Er, which operates 19 branches in Singapore, is best known for its health-focused menu featuring roast duck infused with Chinese herbs such as Angelica Herb and Ten Wonder Herbs. The Phnom Penh outlet aims to replicate the same taste and quality that made the brand a household name in Singapore.
Company representatives said the decision to expand into Cambodia aligns with the Kingdom’s growing appetite for international dining experiences. Phnom Penh’s BKK1 district, known for its mix of upscale restaurants and expatriate clientele, was selected as the brand’s first location outside Singapore.
Launch Event Highlights
During the opening, guests were treated to live duck-carving demonstrations and tastings of Dian Xiao Er’s signature Herbal Roast Duck, along with other Singaporean favorites such as Claypot Fish Curry, Char Siew, and Singapore-style Bak Kut Teh. The restaurant’s mascot, DD.Duck, also made an appearance, entertaining guests and families.
A company spokesperson noted that the restaurant intends to set a benchmark for consistent quality and hospitality. “We want customers in Phnom Penh to experience the same warmth and authenticity that diners enjoy in Singapore,” the spokesperson said.
Special Opening Promotion
To mark its debut, Dian Xiao Er is offering a special three-day promotion from October 5 to 7, where customers can enjoy a quarter portion of its Herbal Roast Duck for $2 with any main order.
The restaurant operates daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
