Cambodia Investment Review

Cambodia’s food, beverage, and hospitality industries are set for another spotlight this October as CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2025 returns to Phnom Penh, backed by strong government support and rising international interest in the Kingdom’s tourism economy.

The three-day exhibition, organized by Informa Markets, will run from October 22–24 at the Diamond Island Exhibition and Convention Centre (DIECC). It is positioned as Cambodia’s largest international trade platform for the hospitality and foodservice industries, with more than 250 exhibitors and 6,000 trade professionals expected to attend.

Government backing for regional hub ambitions

The Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Commerce have thrown their support behind the exhibition, reflecting broader ambitions to elevate Cambodia’s role as a regional food and hospitality hub.

“The Ministry of Tourism is proud to partner with CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2025, an exhibition that reflects Cambodia’s ambitions to elevate our food and hospitality sectors to international standards,” said Chhun Makara, General Director of the General Department of Tourism Industry.

Cambodia’s tourism sector has been recovering strongly, with international arrivals projected to surpass 6 million visitors by the end of 2025. Rising demand for hotels, dining, and professional services has prompted greater focus on workforce development and international partnerships.

Showcasing talent and innovation

This year’s edition will highlight Cambodia’s culinary heritage while connecting the industry with global innovation. The exhibition will feature:

  • Seminar Series hosted by the Cambodia Chefs Association on trends and best practices
  • Heritage on a Plate, showcasing traditional Cambodian cuisine with modern techniques
  • Davinci Gourmet Barista Craft Championship co-hosted with the Ministry of Tourism
  • Wine Service Competition & Cocktail Demo 2025, spotlighting premium beverages
  • Tourism Career Fair 2025, linking young Cambodians with employment opportunities

“Cambodia’s rich culinary heritage is not only a source of national pride, but also a driver of tourism and economic opportunity,” said Chef Pol Kimsan, President of the Cambodia Chefs Association.

Building a skilled workforce

The emphasis on career opportunities comes as the tourism industry seeks to meet growing demand with a skilled workforce.

“The future of Cambodia’s tourism industry depends on a skilled and passionate workforce,” said Cheak Kearun, Deputy Director of Tourism Professional Training at the Ministry of Tourism. “Through initiatives like the Tourism Career Fair, we are creating opportunities for young Cambodians to connect with leading employers and pursue meaningful careers.”

Reinforcing Cambodia’s regional role

With 97% of last year’s exhibitors returning, organizers say CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2025 is set to further solidify its role as the Kingdom’s premier B2B platform for the sector.

“In collaboration with government ministries and industry partners, we remain committed to positioning Cambodia as a premier regional hub for hospitality and F&B excellence,” said Gerard Leeuwenburgh, Country General Manager for Malaysia & Cambodia, Informa Markets.
