Viettel IDC, Vietnam’s leading data center and cloud computing provider, has launched its international cloud brand, Vcloudia, in Cambodia. The move marks the company’s first step in building a regional digital infrastructure network, as demand for cloud services in the Kingdom is expected to grow rapidly.
Cloud Demand in Cambodia Set for Double-Digit Growth
Cambodia’s data center and cloud market remains in the early stages but is forecast to expand quickly. Research by Ipsos projects a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.1%, with the market reaching approximately USD 371 million by 2027. Growth is being driven by sectors such as banking, e-commerce, logistics, education, and e-government, where digital infrastructure is becoming a critical foundation for operations.

Government initiatives promoting emerging technologies, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and big data, are also supporting industry development. Analysts highlight that the rapid pace of digital adoption will create opportunities for both international and regional service providers.
Vcloudia Positioned as Full-Stack Cloud Ecosystem
Vcloudia introduces a full-stack ecosystem built on Viettel IDC’s 17 years of operational experience in Vietnam. The platform offers five core pillars: Cloud Compute, Cloud Storage, Cloud Backup, Cloud Network, and Cloud Security. Designed to meet Cambodia’s market conditions, the services aim to reduce costs, ensure scalability, and strengthen cybersecurity for critical sectors such as banking, finance, and government.
Viettel IDC executives noted that the cloud suite is structured to help Cambodian enterprises accelerate digital transformation and adopt advanced technologies like AI and Big Data. The company operates nine data centers in Vietnam that comply with ANSI/TIA-942 Rated 3 standards and hold multiple international certifications, providing the backbone for its regional expansion strategy.
Qualcomm Partnership Signals Next Phase of AI Adoption
The Phnom Penh launch event featured representatives from U.S.-based Qualcomm, signaling a potential partnership on AI platforms and solutions for Cambodian businesses. Viettel IDC said the collaboration aims to help enterprises leverage data, optimize operations, and develop new business models using advanced technologies.
