After more than two years leading one of the capital’s most dynamic expat networking platforms, Tom Starkey will host his final InterNations Phnom Penh event this Friday, May 23, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at Above 11, the rooftop bar at Novotel Phnom Penh BKK1.
Since taking on the role of Ambassador in late 2021, Tom has organised 26 events across 23 venues, welcoming over 1,000 international guests and forging strong collaborations with embassies, NGOs, local businesses, and global brands. Under his leadership, InterNations Phnom Penh has grown into a recognised space for both social and professional connection.
This week’s event will mark Tom’s final evening as host — but InterNations Phnom Penh will continue. A new Ambassador, selected by the InterNations Head Office based on recommendations from Tom and the community, will carry forward the monthly event series.

During the evening, Tom will officially introduce the newly appointed InterNations Ambassador, ensuring a smooth handover and continued support for the growing expat and business community in Cambodia.
While this is Tom’s final event in an official capacity, InterNations Phnom Penh events will continue every month as usual. Tom now takes on a new role as Events Manager at the British Chamber of Commerce Cambodia, where he will continue organising professional and social gatherings throughout the country.
