Cambodia Investment Review
Bumrungrad International Hospital from Thailand and Cambodia’s Intercare Hospital have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing healthcare services in Cambodia. The collaboration seeks to provide Cambodian patients with direct access to Bumrungrad’s world-class specialists, reducing the need for overseas medical travel while ensuring high-quality treatment at Intercare Hospital in Phnom Penh.
Expanding Access to Specialized Medical Expertise
The partnership will initially focus on key medical specialties, including urology, cardiology, and spine care. Bumrungrad’s top specialists will conduct regular consultations and health screenings at Intercare Hospital, allowing Cambodian patients to receive advanced medical care closer to home. Intercare Hospital will also play a crucial role in patient follow-up care, ensuring that treatment plans are carried out effectively.
“This partnership embodies Bumrungrad International Hospital’s vision to make world-class healthcare more accessible to communities beyond our borders,” said Artirat Charukitpipat, CEO of Bumrungrad International Hospital. “By collaborating with Intercare Hospital, we are creating a pathway for Cambodian patients to receive specialized care with a seamless and patient-centered approach.”
Intercare Hospital’s Founder and CEO, Dr. Lim Lina, highlighted the benefits of the collaboration, stating, “By providing access to more specialists, we can offer our patients comprehensive, expert care that meets the highest standards while maintaining the comfort and convenience of receiving care close to home.”
Enhancing Patient Care and Treatment Coordination
Under the partnership, Bumrungrad’s specialists will visit Phnom Penh regularly to provide expert consultations and treatment plans at Intercare Hospital. Patients requiring advanced procedures will benefit from a streamlined referral process to Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok, ensuring pre-arranged treatment plans and a smooth transition between facilities.
“Our goal is to complement the care already available, ensuring patients receive continuous and comprehensive treatment,” said Rajeev Rajan, Chief Business Development Officer at Bumrungrad International Hospital. The collaboration will also support enhanced chronic disease management, with personalized care plans designed to improve long-term health outcomes for patients in Cambodia.
This strategic initiative marks a significant step in strengthening Cambodia’s healthcare infrastructure, leveraging the expertise of both institutions to improve medical access and quality of care for patients in the region.
