The International Business Chamber of Cambodia (IBC) is organizing an educational networking event on April 24 at the Rosewood Hotel in Phnom Penh. Aimed at fostering collaboration between educators and industry leaders, the event will provide a platform for sharing innovative teaching strategies and discussing future projects.
Gabriel Helmy, Chair of the IBC Education Working Group, highlighted the event’s role in connecting the educational sector with the private sector. “This networking event is pivotal for strengthening ties between educators and business professionals, aligning educational initiatives with the needs of our economy,” Helmy told Cambodia Investment Review.
The event offers reduced ticket prices, $15 for IBC members and $25 for non-members, including canapés and free-flow drinks. It will run from 6 PM to 8 PM, with registration beginning at 5:30 PM.
The IBC Education Working Group’s current initiatives, such as the “Closing the Skills Gap Accelerator,” supported by the World Economic Forum and the Royal Government of Cambodia, and the “Pathways 2 Employment” program, which provides internships and apprenticeships to young Cambodians.
Additionally, the “Teacher Workplace Visit Program” aims to increase teachers’ exposure to real workplace settings, enhancing the relevance of their teaching.
