Cambodia Investment Review
A meeting between the Entrepreneurship Development Fund (EDF) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Commerce to discuss potential investment opportunities and future business cooperation in Cambodia ended with fruitful results.
The Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was invited by Entrepreneurship Development Fund (EDF) under Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia (MEF) and Secretariat of Preah Sihanouk Province (SHV SEZ Master Plan) and supported by the Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cambodia to visit SHV SEZ Master Plan & EDF.
The delegation of 12 Guangxi government and enterprises was led by Mr Dou Xilin from the Department of Commerce of Guangxi.
Preferential policies for foreign investment
In order to implement the consensus reached by the leaders on February 10, 2023; the two sides had a friendly exchange. During the meeting, H.E. Chea Kokhong, secretariat director of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund (EDF) gave a brief introduction on Cambodian macro economy status entrepreneurship ecosystem SHV SEZ Master Plan and the preferential policies of the Royal Government of Cambodia for foreign investment.
In the discussion session, both sides also exchanged views on cold chain logistics; logistics infrastructure; cooperation in agro-processing free zones; food processing; petrochemicals; textile and chemical fiber weft production, and the planning of SHV SEZ Master Plan.
An important gateway and frontier position for China
Guangxi is the only coastal region in western China, an important gateway and frontier position for China to open up to the outside world, to ASEAN and the world, and the most convenient access to the sea in the Great Southwest. The master plan of the New Western Land and Sea Corridor and SHV SEZ Master Plan can be well integrated.
Finally, Mr Dou Xilin, on behalf of Guangxi Department of Commerce, welcomed H.E. Chea Kokhong to lead the government and enterprise delegation to visit Guangxi in May for more in-depth investigation and discussion. Promote the trade and two-way investment between Guangxi and Cambodia.
