Cambodia Investment Review
Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh is gearing up to host a two-day event for families with young children. Dubbed “KiddieQuest: Unlock Your Child’s Potential”, the event aims to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children in Cambodia, while also creating a fun and memorable experience for participating families.
Families with babies aged between 7-24 months and children aged between 2-5 years are invited to attend. The program will feature a range of activities, including baby development evaluations, fun games, and performances. Additionally, parents will have the opportunity to check out the school’s Smart Baby Club, which offers a secure and fun learning environment for babies and young children.
Aspire to a better life with increased opportunities
The highlight of the event will be the Handprint Art Challenge, where all proceeds will be directed to a Phnom Penh-based NGO, ISF Cambodia (ISF). ISF is an award-winning organization dedicated to providing education and sport-for-social-impact opportunities to underprivileged children in Cambodia. Through its tailormade Education Programme, ISF provides children who never attended school or who were forced to drop out the opportunity to catch-up on the education they have missed, build their confidence, and aspire to a better life with increased opportunities.
Ms. Vicheka Chourp, ISF’s Country Manager, stated: “We are deeply grateful for the incredible initiative by Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh to support the education of children living in extreme poverty through the Handprint Art Challenge. Education is a powerful tool that has the potential to break the generational cycle of poverty. When children are given the chance to learn, they spark a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond themselves – to their families, communities, and future generations. We thank the school for making a difference in the lives of Cambodian children in need. “
Experience positive influence for families
The event is endorsed by Dr. Sann Vathana, Under Secretary of State, Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MoEYS) in Cambodia. Dr. Vathana had some encouraging words for parents, saying, “This is an excellent opportunity for families to come together and have a fun-filled weekend, while also contributing to a great cause. We applaud Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh for this initiative in helping the educational system of Cambodia into greater heights.”
Parents will also have the opportunity to experience the positive influence of local influencer Ms. Adda Angel. Moreover, the event will feature activities specifically tailored for infants and children of different age groups. Organizers say the event is an opportunity for families to bond, make memories, and instill in children the importance of giving back and making a positive impact in their community.
Overall, “KiddieQuest: Unlock Your Child’s Potential” promises to be a fun and meaningful event for families in Phnom Penh. We encourage parents to bring their children and join in the festivities, while supporting a great cause. The event will take place on February 26 and 27, 2023, at Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh.
