Cambodia Investment Review
The International Business Chamber (IBC) of Cambodia has officially opened applications for nine out of the eleven positions on its Executive Committee. This announcement sets the stage for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on March 6, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, where the chamber will not only celebrate the triumphs of 2023 but also usher in a new era of committee leadership.
Highlighting the democratic ethos at its core, the IBC invites its members in good standing to step into leadership roles by nominating themselves for the Executive Committee. This process, open until February 27, 2024, is a testament to the IBC’s dedication to fostering a participative environment where members have a direct hand in shaping the organization’s future.
Election Of 9 New Committee Members
The AGM promises to be a comprehensive event, with the election of new committee members being just one of its many highlights. Attendees will also be treated to a detailed recounting of the Chamber’s achievements over the past year, through the Chairman’s Report and Financial Report, offering a transparent insight into the organization’s operational successes and financial health.

This year’s AGM is particularly noteworthy not only for the leadership transition but also for its reflection on the challenges and victories of the previous year. The inclusion of a guest speaker, whose details will be announced soon, is expected to add further depth to the discussions, providing valuable insights to the members present.
To ensure the AGM’s success and the effective participation of its membership, the IBC underscores the importance of achieving a 50% quorum, achievable through physical, online attendance, or by proxy. This requirement highlights the Chamber’s commitment to making the AGM an inclusive, representative, and decisive meeting.
Importance As A Networking And Collaborative Platform
Members have been encouraged to RSVP by March 4, 2024, and explore sponsorship opportunities, reflecting the event’s importance as a networking and collaborative platform. Furthermore, the IBC has put in place measures to manage attendance efficiently, including a policy to charge members who confirm attendance but fail to cancel before February 16, to minimize unnecessary wastage.
As the IBC prepares for this significant event, the opening of applications for the majority of the Executive Committee positions reflects a moment of opportunity and renewal within the organization. It underscores the Chamber’s progressive stance on leadership and governance, inviting its members to contribute actively to its direction and success.
