The Shanty Town Spirit – Association Ermine Norodom commemorated its 10th anniversary with a grand “Thank You” event at the prestigious Raffles Hotel Le Royal on December 07th. The Association, renowned for its extensive humanitarian work in Cambodia’s poorest communities, celebrated this milestone in the presence of over 200 distinguished guests.
Founded in 2013 by HRH Prince Narithipong Norodom and Princess Ermine Norodom, the Association has been a beacon of hope for underprivileged communities, starting with their pioneering work in a Beoung Trabek slum town. Over the years, it has expanded its outreach, currently supporting over 300 families with a range of services including health care, hygiene, education, special needs assistance, and leisure activities.

The 10th-anniversary celebration, a testament to the Association’s enduring commitment, was bolstered by the support of major partners such as Edan Group, Halys, Urban Village, Legend Cinema, Pernod Ricard, Raffles Hotel Le Royal, and SinnC Creative Solutions. The event featured captivating performances by the Royal Ballet and Princess Jenna, the Association’s Ambassador. Additionally, a video montage courtesy of media partner Bayon TV highlighted the Association’s journey, complemented by an array of prizes and certificates of appreciation for its steadfast supporters.
Reflecting on the Association’s journey, founder Princess Norodom expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support the organization has received. “Ten years ago, my husband and I created the Association with a vision to assist those in need, not just those who meet certain criteria. We are firm believers that everyone, irrespective of their age, status, or wealth, deserves access to fundamental human needs,” she stated. The Princess emphasized the critical role played by their partners and donors in making their vision a reality.
