Any kind of digital transformation begins and ends with a network, as it is the backbone that connects edge devices and objects to applications with and across clouds. The network is a business’s circulatory system, constantly pushing vital data from consumer to partner to supplier and back. It is critical for business operators to communicate and exchange expertise within the ICT community to ensure a stable core network.
Importance of data-driven decision making
Following three successful knowledge-sharing events, the KHNOG 4 Conference, which Smart Axiata sponsored, was held on November 20, 2022, at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia and was attended by local and regional technology organizations and companies. The conference aimed to bring together key stakeholders to discuss growing concerns such as cyber and network security, access and transport networks and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Veng Kanha, KHNOG executive co-chair, said: “On behalf of the KHNOG committee team, I would like to thank everyone for making this event possible. We hope you all can join and share experiences together in order to build a better ICT community for Cambodia.”
Andrey Kuzin, chief technical officer of Smart Axiata, took part in a panel discussion about Cambodia moving toward digital transformation.
“Digital transformation is crucial for businesses to survive, to remain relevant to customer needs and stay competitive. The success of a digital transformation absolutely depends on the skill set of organizations’ employees,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of data-driven decision-making and the role of connectivity in building an inclusive digital economy for Cambodia.
“Connectivity is one of those really important elements in maintaining the data flow. It impacts businesses and the whole country in general because connectivity is how you include people in the modern economy,” Smart Axiata’s CTO added.
