Cambodian Association of Finance and Technology (CAFT) have announced Cambodia Investment Review, as one of five, local media partners to cover the five-day CamTech 2021 Powered by Prudential held virtually between November 8-12.

The strategic partnership will promote CAFTs vision of serving as the collective voice in providing relevant information and expertise, that will help ensure the country’s economic growth.

CamTech 2021 Powered by Prudential is organized by Cambodian Association of Finance and Technology in cooperation with National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC) and Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA) and is again partnering with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for World Fintech Festival.

The first day will feature a showcase of tourism and tech in Siem Reap, second day real estate and tech in Sihanoukville and third day agriculture, tech and trade-in Battambang.

Day four and five will continue in Phnom Penh, a partner city to World Fintech Festival 2021, with live sessions broadcasted in more than 40 countries including Singapore.

CamTech Summit will be broadcasted locally for free on CAFT as well as relevant partner pages and internationally through the World FinTech Festival stage.

There will also be free tickets available for the Singapore Financial Festival sister event being held at the same time.

Since the COVID 19 pandemic Cambodia’s e-commerce sector has been rapidly expanding with new investment well as partnering to increase market share and access.

In September, e-commerce site Smile Shop has partnered with Chinese venture capital firm Jin Sha Group to develop its platform to allow consumers to directly purchase listed products instantly on credit.

Cambodia Investment Review has been informed the deal was “in the millions” and in return for a portion of Smile Shop shares.

The summit has been designed to gain global impact, promote Cambodia’s technological advances and to spread expert-sourced information to the public, private sectors and businesses in the Kingdom.

PRNewswire on the other hand, is CAFT and CamTech 2021 Powered by Prudential international PR partner that disseminates press releases globally through its unparalleled distribution network.

Last month, one of pan-Asia’s rapidly expanding digital-based insurance providers FWD Insurance has launched operations in Cambodia – now its tenth market in the region.

Last year, CAFT merged with the Cambodia Fintech Association and is now considered the leading single voice for the industry, making it easier for government regulators and organizations to work with them.

Since the merger, CAFT has also become a member of the Association of Banks in Cambodia, allowing it to receive government support more broadly.

The Kingdom’s digital payment market size value has not been verified however industry estimates vary between $10 – $20 billion annually.
